In the spring of 2009, the Joint Sunset Committee received a list of inactive Councils from the Governor’s Office. The Joint Sunset Committee notified each oversight agency of Committee’s intent to sunset each inactive Council on June 30, 2010. Each oversight agency responded to the Committee indicating that the Council was in fact inactive and the Committee held a public hearing in regard to sunsetting these entities. In April 2010, the Joint Sunset Committee voted to sunset the Council on Soil and Water, the Council on Environmental Control, and the Delmarva Advisory Council. This Act eliminates those committees as of June 30, 2010, or as of the date of this Act’s enactment into law if such date is later than June 30, 2010.
