Summary

This bill empowers the State Election Commissioner, in conjunction with municipalities’ boards of election, to reschedule municipal elections in cases of emergencies. It specifies a new procedure to resolve complaints that conduct contrary to law changed the outcome of a municipal election. It creates a mechanism to resolve tie votes in municipal elections through a special election, financed by the State, unless a municipal charter provides otherwise.
