Summary

As introduced Bill 23-657 extends the timeline for smaller buildings to comply with building energy performance standards. It allows the Department of Energy and the Environment to issue building energy performance standards every 6 years instead of every 5 years and extends the deadline for the Department of General Services to develop the Strategic Energy Management Plan for District buildings. It also extends the deadline for the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue rules revising the vehicle excise tax.
