AN ACT ESTABLISHING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS IN CYBERSECURITY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Economic and Community Development shall conduct an analysis of the cybersecurity sector in the state, including, but not limited to: (1) An assessment of the resources in the state to support the growth of such sector; (2) the identification of areas in the state that contain resources to best support such growth; (3) the identification of challenges facing such growth; (4) policy recommendations to encourage such growth; and (5) in consultation with the chief executive officer of Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated, the identification of potential partners to aid in the development of the cybersecurity sector, including, but not limited to, educational institutions, cybersecurity businesses, cybersecurity trade associations and nonprofit organizations, and representatives from the financial, insurance, health care and defense sectors in the state. Not later than December 1, 2015, the commissioner shall submit such analysis to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
