AN ACT CONCERNING COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR MUNICIPALITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the section 7-148v of the general statutes be amended to increase the threshold amount requiring competitive bidding for the award of any municipal contract from seven thousand five hundred dollars to fifteen thousand dollars.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow towns greater flexibility and efficiency for purchases of items that are of relatively low value.
