AN ACT CONCERNING UNFUNDED STATE MANDATES ON MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the approval by a vote of at least two-thirds of the members of each chamber of the General Assembly to enact any new state mandate for which no state reimbursement is provided to municipal governments for costs resulting from such mandate.

Statement of Purpose:

To protect municipalities from unfunded state mandates and provide property tax relief.
