AN ACT REQUIRING CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR DOOR-TO-DOOR SALESPERSONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that any person who is employed as a door-to-door salesperson shall, prior to the commencement of such employment in this state, at his or her own expense, submit to a criminal background check, and thereafter submit the results of such background check to the Department of Consumer Protection.

Statement of Purpose:

To require criminal background checks for door-to-door salesperson job candidates, the cost of which to be covered by the individual.
