AN ACT REMOVING PENSIONS FROM THE SCOPE OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS FOR STATE EMPLOYEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to remove pensions from the scope of collective bargaining agreements for state employees hired on or after July 1, 2012, and to require all state employees hired on or after July 1, 2012, to participate in a defined contribution benefit plan rather than the current defined benefit system.
Statement of Purpose:
To save the state money and reduce the state's long-term liabilities by enacting comprehensive pension reform.
