AN ACT CONCERNING CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AND THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17a of the general statutes be amended to require periodic criminal background checks for employees of the Department of Children and Families and the Department of Developmental Services who work directly with agency clients.
Statement of Purpose:
To require periodic criminal background checks for employees of the Department of Children and Families and the Department of Developmental Services who work directly with vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly and disabled persons.
