AN ACT REQUIRING ABLE-BODIED ADULTS WITHOUT DEPENDENTS TO MEET WORK REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE BENEFITS FROM THE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Section 17b-105a of the general statutes is amended by adding subsection (d) as follows (Effective from passage):

(NEW) (d) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, on and after the effective date of this section, the Commissioner of Social Services shall require all able-bodied adults without dependents to meet federal work requirements to receive supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits, unless they qualify for an exemption pursuant to 7 USC 273.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
