AN ACT CONCERNING INSPECTIONS BY FIRE MARSHALS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2016) (a) The Commissioner of Administrative Services shall conduct a study of the feasibility and means of permitting local fire marshals to authorize individuals, including, but not limited to, employees of nonprofit organizations, to conduct routine fire inspections within the local fire marshal's jurisdiction.

(b) On or before January 1, 2017, the Commissioner of Administrative Services shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, the findings of the study required by subsection (a) of this section, including any recommendations for proposed legislation, to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters related to public safety and housing.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
