AN ACT CONCERNING REQUIRING ABLE-BODIED ADULTS TO MEET WORK REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM BENEFITS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 17b-105a of the general statutes be amended to require able-bodied adults without dependents to meet federal requirements to work not less than twenty hours a week or participate in authorized job training or volunteer services in order to continue receiving benefits from the federal supplemental nutrition assistance program.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure able-bodied adults without dependents receiving supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits are working or training to become self-sufficient.
