AN ACT CONCERNING LENGTHY SENTENCES FOR CRIMES COMMITTED BY A CHILD OR YOUTH.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That sections 18-98e, 46b-127, 46b-133c, 46b-133d, 53a-46a, 53a-54a, 53a-54b, 53a-54d, 54-91c and 54-125a of the general statutes be amended to address the United States Supreme Court's decision, Miller v. Alabama, and to require certain notices concerning the maximum period of incarceration, earliest release dates and earliest parole release dates be provided to victims.
Statement of Purpose:
To address the Miller v. Alabama decision regarding lengthy juvenile sentences, and provide certain notices to victims.
