AN ACT REQUIRING CONNECTICUT TO JOIN THE STATE AUTHORIZATION RECIPROCITY AGREEMENT REGARDING DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 10a of the general statutes be amended to require the Office of Higher Education to enter into a multistate or regional reciprocity agreement for the purpose of participation in a nation-wide state authorization reciprocity agreement that establishes uniform standards for distance learning programs across states and eliminates the need for a state participating in such nation-wide state reciprocity agreement to assess the quality of a distance learning program offered by an out-of-state institution of higher education through such state's traditional authorization, licensing and accreditation process.
Statement of Purpose:
To require Connecticut to participate in the state authorization reciprocity agreement for postsecondary distance learning programs.
