AN ACT CONCERNING A DEFINED CONTRIBUTION RETIREMENT PLAN FOR STATE EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapters 16, 66 and 67 of the general statutes be amended to eliminate the present state employees' defined benefit retirement plan for state employees hired after June 1, 2011, and establish a defined contribution retirement plan for such employees in lieu thereof.

Statement of Purpose:

To change the state employee retirement plan from a defined benefit plan to a defined contribution plan for newly-hired employees.
