AN ACT ESTABLISHING FIRST RESPONDER DAY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 10-29a of the 2014 supplement to the general statutes is amended by adding subdivision (66) as follows (Effective from passage):

(NEW) (66) The Governor shall proclaim September twenty-seventh of each year to be First Responder Day in recognition of the service, sacrifice and contribution of such personnel to the public health and safety. Suitable exercises shall be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the observance of the day.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
