AN ACT CONCERNING POST-ELECTION AUDITS OF CERTAIN CAMPAIGN FINANCE RECORDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 9-7b of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the State Elections Enforcement Commission from conducting an audit of the treasurer accounts or records of a candidate committee for a candidate after any primary or election for the office sought by such candidate if the treasurer accounts or records of the candidate committee for such candidate for the immediately preceding primary or election for such office were the subject of any such audit.

Statement of Purpose:

To limit the frequency of post-election campaign finance audits conducted by the State Elections Enforcement Commission.
