AN ACT CONCERNING PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS AND BUILDING PERMIT FEES FOR CLASS I RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That (1) section 12-81 of the general statutes be amended to exempt from property tax any Class I renewable energy source installed for the generation of electricity for commercial, industrial or municipal use, and (2) section 29-263 of the general statutes be amended to limit building permit fees imposed by a municipality for Class I renewable energy projects to reflect only administrative costs, rather than a percentage of the cost of construction.
Statement of Purpose:
To exempt from property tax Class I renewable energy installations for commercial, industrial and municipal use and to lower the building permit fees for Class I renewable energy projects.
