AN ACT CONCERNING THE PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REMOVE ICE OR SNOW FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsections (a) and (c) of section 14-252a of the general statutes be amended to designate as an infraction the failure to remove accumulated ice or snow from a noncommercial or commercial motor vehicle, thereby allowing a person cited for such violation to pay the fine by mail in lieu of making a court appearance.

Statement of Purpose:

To authorize persons cited for failing to remove accumulated ice or snow from their motor vehicles to pay the fine by mail rather than making a court appearance.
