AN ACT CONCERNING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN INMATES TO OUT-OF-STATE PRISONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 325 of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Correction to transfer inmates serving a term of imprisonment of eight years or more to a correctional facility outside this state whenever possible.

Statement of Purpose:

To help reduce the costs of incarcerating inmates serving long prison terms.
