Introduced by:

AN ACT EXPANDING THE MINIMUM BUDGET REQUIREMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to expand the minimum budget requirement to apply to senior centers and to further provide that when such centers experience an increase in the cost of employee benefits that will cause a corresponding shortfall in excess of one per cent in the funding available for another item in such center's budget, the municipality in which such center is located shall provide funding to resolve the shortfall.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide that municipalities must provide the same level of funding to senior centers as was provided the previous fiscal year, and to require municipalities to cover any budgetary shortfalls experienced by senior centers as a result of an increase in employee benefits.
