AN ACT CHANGING THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 18 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the mission statement of the Department of Correction shall be revised to reflect the need for educational and rehabilitation services in order to better prepare prisoners for their reentry into the community upon release from incarceration.
Statement of Purpose:
To reflect the need to provide services to inmates that facilitate their successful reintegration into society.
