AN ACT CONCERNING THE RESOLUTION OF A TIE VOTE BETWEEN CANDIDATES IN A PRIMARY FOR STATE OR DISTRICT OFFICE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 9-446 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any tie vote in a primary for a state or district office or a municipal office for a general assembly seat be resolved by an adjourned primary in which only the top vote recipients who are tied appear on the ballot.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide that any tie vote in a primary for a state or district office or a municipal office for a general assembly seat be resolved by an adjourned primary in which only the top vote recipients who are tied appear on the ballot.
