AN ACT ELIMINATING FEES ON CERTAIN ELECTRONIC BENEFIT TRANSFERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services to eliminate vendor fees on transactions of under ten dollars made by public assistance recipients with electronic benefit transfer cards.

Statement of Purpose:

To reduce the financial burden on vendors when public assistance recipients make small purchases with their electronic benefit transfer cards.
