AN ACT CONCERNING FOSTER PARENTS' STANDING IN COURT PROCEEDINGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to grant "person of legitimate concern" status in a court proceeding to any foster parent who has had a foster child placed with him or her for at least one year, or in the case of a minor child under the age of two, the child has been placed with foster parent for a period of time that is not less than one-half of the child's age.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide the foster parent of a child or infant with improved access to court proceedings regarding the well-being of the child or infant.
