AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF CREDIT HISTORIES AS A FACTOR IN UNDERWRITING OR RATING PRIVATE PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE POLICIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the use of an applicant's credit history as a factor in underwriting or rating a private passenger motor vehicle insurance policy.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit the use of an applicant's credit history as a factor in underwriting or rating a private passenger motor vehicle insurance policy.
