AN ACT DETERRING FRAUD IN SOCIAL SERVICES PROGRAMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17b-99 of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services and the Chief State's Attorney to identify existing staff and resources that could be dedicated to enforcement and prevention of fraud and abuse in state-sponsored social services programs.

Statement of Purpose:

To deter fraud and abuse and foster accountability and integrity in taxpayer-funded services.
