AN ACT ENCOURAGING STUDENTS IN TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAMS TO TUTOR CHILDREN IN ALLIANCE DISTRICT SCHOOLS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2013) Each public institution of higher education with a teacher preparation program shall establish an internship program pursuant to which students enrolled in such program may earn, at no additional cost to the student, one academic credit for tutoring a child enrolled in a school located in an alliance district, as defined in section 10-262u of the general statutes, for one hour per week for one semester.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
