AN ACT CONCERNING EXPLOITATIVE LABOR IN SUPPLY CHAINS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) require retailers and manufacturers doing business in the state that have annual gross receipts exceeding fifty million dollars to disclose to the public their efforts to identify and remove slavery, human trafficking and exploitative labor from their supply chains, (2) provide that the exclusive remedy for a failure to make such disclosure shall be an action for injunctive relief brought by the Attorney General, and (3) require that the Department of Revenue Services submit an annual report to the Attorney General listing the retailers and manufacturers that report annual gross receipts exceeding fifty million dollars.
Statement of Purpose:
To require retailers and manufacturers to disclose their efforts to identify and remove exploitative labor from their supply chains.
