AN ACT CONCERNING PRESCRIPTION DRUG LABELS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 20-617 of the general statutes be amended to require pharmacies to standardize language used on prescription drug container labels to make the labels more easily understood by patients.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide a standardized, patient-centered prescription drug label on each prescription drug container that is dispensed to a patient to reduce the number of patients who incorrectly take their medication.
