AN ACT PROHIBITING THE INTRODUCTION OF FRACKING BY-PRODUCTS ONTO ROADS, REAL PROPERTY OR IN WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES OF THE STATE AND PROHIBITING THE SALE OF SUCH FRACKING BY-PRODUCTS IN THE STATE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the introduction of fracking by-products into any wastewater treatment facility within the state and to prohibit the sale of such fracking by-products in the state and the application of any such by-products on any roads or real property located in the state. To further provide that contracts relating to the construction or maintenance of roads and real property contain provisions prohibiting the use of any product that contains fracking by-products.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit the placement, application and use of toxic fracking by-products, such as liquids, chemical additives and naturally occurring radioactive materials, in the state.
