AN ACT PROHIBITING THE SALE OF PERSONAL COSMETIC PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN MICROBEADS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the sale of personal cosmetic products, such as soaps, toothpastes and facial scrubs, that contain microbeads.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent microbeads from entering the state's waterways and to prevent the toxins contained in such microbeads from bioaccumulating in fish and humans.
