AN ACT CONCERNING WAGE PARITY UNDER MUNICIPAL BINDING ARBITRATION AWARDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require that the calculation of wages and benefits for municipal employees under binding arbitration awards be based on the wages and benefits of private sector employees for comparable work, adjusted for the higher level of job security in the public sector and based on the number of hours worked.
Statement of Purpose:
To create wage parity between comparable public and private sector jobs under municipal binding arbitration awards.
