AN ACT PROCLAIMING MARCH THIRTIETH TO BE WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETERANS DAY AND MAKING "TAPS" THE STATE SONG OF REMEMBRANCE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 10-29a of the 2010 supplement to the general statutes is amended by adding subdivision (61) as follows (Effective from passage):

(NEW) (61) The Governor shall proclaim March thirtieth of each year to be Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, to commemorate and honor the return home of the members of the armed forces who served in Vietnam. Suitable exercises shall be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the observance of the day.

Sec. 2. (NEW) (Effective from passage) The song "Taps", composed by Daniel Butterfield, shall be the state song of remembrance.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
