AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF PARAMEDIC SERVICES IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 368d of the general statutes be amended to provide that a person who is licensed as a paramedic pursuant to chapter 384d of the general statutes, but who is employed by an emergency services organization that is not licensed to administer paramedic services, may administer paramedic services to a patient in any instance in which no other individual is available to administer the paramedic services.

Statement of Purpose:

To permit a licensed paramedic, who is employed by an emergency medical services organization which is not authorized to offer paramedic services, to administer paramedic services if no other licensed paramedic is available to administer the services.
