AN ACT CONCERNING THE MEDICALLY NEEDY INCOME LIMIT FOR MEDICAID COVERAGE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17b-261 of the general statutes be amended to allow medically-needy individuals, as defined in 42 CFR 435.4, to make lump sum or installment payments to the state, pursuant to section 1903(f)(2)(B) of the Social Security Act, to establish income eligibility for Medicaid coverage.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow medically-needy individuals the option of making payments to the state in order to meet income eligibility guidelines for Medicaid coverage.
