AN ACT CONCERNING THE ADMINISTRATION OF IV THERAPY PROGRAMS IN LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 368a of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Public Health to amend the Public Health Code so as to permit qualified infusion nurses to initiate and terminate peripherally-inserted central catheter line procedures for the benefit of residents in long-term care facilities.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow infusion nurses to place peripherally-inserted central catheter lines in patients residing in the state's long-term care facilities.
