AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY METHODS OF IMPROVING THE COLLECTION OF PAST DUE CHILD SUPPORT IN THE STATE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a task force that shall study (1) the feasibility of sharing information between state agencies in an effort to improve collection of past due child support, and (2) expanded authorization of persons who may serve capias mittimus orders in court matters involving past due child support. Task force membership shall include, but not be limited to, representatives from the Judicial Branch and the Departments of Social Services, Administrative Services and Emergency Services and Public Protection.

Statement of Purpose:

To establish a task force to study methods of improving the collection of past due child support in the state.
