AN ACT CONCERNING HONORARY HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS FOR CERTAIN SENIOR CITIZENS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 10-221a of the general statutes be amended to permit local and regional boards of education to award honorary high school diplomas to any person who (1) is ninety years of age or older, (2) has lived in the state for the past fifty years, (3) attended a high school under the jurisdiction of such board, and (4) withdrew from such high school prior to graduation to find work or assist in the care of family members.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow boards of education to award honorary diplomas to certain senior citizens.
