AN ACT REQUIRING DNA TESTING OF PERSONS ARRESTED FOR CERTAIN FELONIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That sections 54-102g, 54-102h and 54-102l of the general statutes be amended to require any person arrested for a felony specified in subsection (b) of section 54-125a of the general statutes to submit to the taking of a blood or other biological sample for DNA analysis.

Statement of Purpose:

To expand the DNA data bank and thereby improve the ability of law enforcement agencies to identify repeat offenders by requiring the taking of a DNA sample from persons arrested for certain serious felonies.
