AN ACT ESTABLISHING A DEDUCTION FROM INCOME TAX FOR THE INTEREST PAID ON STUDENT LOANS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 229 of the general statutes be amended to provide a deduction from the personal income tax for interest paid on student loans.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide relief to college graduates with burdensome college loans.
