AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE LEARN HERE, LIVE HERE PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to allow a student, who graduates from a public or independent institution of higher education in this state or from a regional vocational-technical school, to elect, on or after January 1, 2013, to use a certain amount of the sum paid by such student for the income tax under chapter 229 of the general statutes toward the purchase of such student's first home in this state or the start-up of a new business by such student in this state.
Statement of Purpose:
To enable students who graduate from institutions of higher education in Connecticut to participate in a savings plan to help them purchase their first home or start a new business in Connecticut.
