AN ACT CONCERNING THE FORFEITURE OF PROPERTY RELATED TO THE ALLEGED COMMISSION OF A CRIME.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 54-33g of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the forfeiture of any property that is related to the alleged commission of a crime until such time as the defendant has been convicted of a crime.
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit the preemptive forfeiture of property related to the alleged commission of a crime until such time as the defendant has been convicted of a crime.
