Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require insurance companies, health care companies, fraternal benefit societies and other entities that provide coverage for the treatment of a substance use disorder, as described in section 17a-458 of the general statutes, to reimburse health care providers directly for services provided by such provider for the treatment of such substance use disorder.
Statement of Purpose:
To require insurance companies, health care companies, fraternal benefit societies and other entities that provide coverage for the treatment of a substance use disorder to reimburse health care providers directly, rather than insureds, for services provided by such provider for the treatment of the substance use disorder.
