REP. LOPES, 24th Dist. |
AN ACT CONCERNING AN INCREASE IN RATES FOR CERTAIN CHRONIC DISEASE HOSPITALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 17b-239 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the rate paid to a freestanding chronic disease hospital that receives more than fifty per cent of its patient service revenue from Medicaid be increased by an inflation factor equal to or greater than the Medicare market basket inflation rate as published in the Federal Register of the previous September.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure hospitals that have a very high proportion of Medicaid clients receive enough financial support from the state to remain financially viable.
