AN ACT CONCERNING THE FAILURE OF A WITNESS TO REPORT THE COMMISSION OF A SERIOUS CRIME.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 53a of the general statutes be amended to make it a criminal offense for a person who witnesses a murder, assault, sexual assault or child abuse to fail to report that crime to law enforcement officials.
Statement of Purpose:
To require persons who witness the commission of a serious crime to report that crime to a law enforcement official.
