AN ACT PREVENTING THE CLOSURE OR RELOCATION OF CHILD WELFARE OFFICES IN HIGH NEED AREAS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the sum of ____ dollars be appropriated to the Department of Children and Families, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015, for the purpose of (1) maintaining or expanding district offices located in communities that generate a high percentage of the department's caseload in such district, and (2) preventing the relocation of such offices to communities that generate a lower percentage of cases in such district.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure adequate access to services provided by the Department of Children and Families to children and families in communities with the greatest need for such services.
