AN ACT CONCERNING ASSAULT OF LICENSED SECURITY OFFICERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 53a-167c of the general statutes be amended to provide that any person who, with intent to prevent a reasonably identifiable security officer licensed under part II of chapter 534 of the general statutes from performing his or her duties, assaults such security officer shall be guilty of a class C felony.
Statement of Purpose:
To include licensed security officers in the statute that provides an enhanced penalty for the assault of public safety, emergency medical and public transit personnel.
