AN ACT CONCERNING RECRUITMENT OF MINORS INTO A GANG OR TO COMMIT A GANG-RELATED CRIME.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 53a of the general statutes be amended to establish a criminal offense, classified as a class A misdemeanor, for an adult to solicit or recruit a minor to (1) participate in a gang, as defined in section 29-7n of the general statutes, or (2) commit a gang-related crime.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect youth and communities by reducing the level of gang-related activity.
