AN ACT CONCERNING THE MINIMUM BUDGET REQUIREMENT FOR TOWNS THAT ACHIEVE EFFICIENCIES AND LOWER COSTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (d) of section 10-262i of the general statutes be amended to increase the amount that a school district may reduce its budgeted appropriation for education from an amount equal to one-half of one per cent to one per cent of such district's budgeted appropriation for education based on any savings realized through new and documentable savings through increased intradistrict efficiencies approved by the Commissioner of Education for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2016, and June 30, 2017.

Statement of Purpose:

To amend the minimum budget requirement by increasing the amount that a school district may reduce its budget appropriation for education in situations when a school district realizes new and documentable savings through increased intradistrict efficiencies.
